Manfred's in the Kitchen With Molly

Here’s another of my numerous paintings of animals, since many pet owners really cherish their animal companions and ask me to paint them. In this case I was given the photograph of the cat and told that this cat really liked to hang out in the kitchen, especially with the owner as she cooked. He would always show up there as soon as he heard any sounds coming out of the kitchen, and it wasn’t merely that he wanted food, the cat enjoyed just being there, observing his owner do things, and just being present there. I don’t know why he liked the kitchen, but he did, and this was his favourite place in the house. So I painted this picture focusing on the cat, and I added the woman here with her lounge pants, preparing food or doing something, in order to depict the atmosphere which the cat really enjoyed.
