I painted this Indian couple for an Indian woman, who wanted to give it as a gift for her parents. It was a large 36 by 24 oil painting of two Indian people who have been married for many years, and it was meant to be given to them for their 50th marriage anniversary. However, at some point her sister got involved and she probably didn’t want to pay for the painting. She made an excuse that a red hue was too dominant in her mother’s forehead, so she insisted on cancelling the order after I'd already done the work.

I still have the painting somewhere in my closet. As it patiently waits within my closet, its vibrant colors and evocative portrayal remain poised to grace the world with a narrative of love that transcends time and challenges.
